While I think the players opening Buff Walk-in outfits, for their season opener were awesome, I do see Coach Sanfords modeled reasoning for choosing to have everyone wearing the same look.
It definitely unites them more as one, at least as far as I see. Maybe this leaves the opportunity open to ask Coach Sanford for a chat? Let me know what y'all think, and if you’d what to hear what he’d have to say.

The MLB has been chucking out fits day in and day out for years, long before Football and Basketball. While every sport is different, hockey players have always shown up best dressed going into the locker room. Since I couldn’t pick just one, I’ve decided to show off the LA Kings and Toronto Maple Leaves, pre-game outfits. The Toronto Maple Leafs Photo credit to @mapleleafs on Instagram I mean, do they all kind of look the same.. yes! BUT, they all look very daper and are coming in with that feel good, look good, play good, moto and I'm here for it. The LA Kings showed out, out in Dallas playing the stars. And they did not disappoint. Photo credit to @LAKings on Instagram. Obviously, the guys are a little jet lagged as the majority of them were pictured walking in with there to-go coffee mugs, but hey, we're not judging. The LA Kings mascot, Bailey got a re-style of its own.
Playing off the rapper, the Weeknd, who decided to wrap his face prior to this past superbowl, where he performed at halftime. To showcase the Kings mascots new look, the Kings decided to do the same. Bailey was photographed for social media walking into the locker room with a suit on and gauze completely cover its face.
As we have begun the fall that means the new season for professional sports starts up again. As I go over social media and pre-game walk-ins, I cant help but notice the stylish letterman jackets that everyone is seeming to love this season.
Starting with the Washington Football team quarterback, Taylor Heinicke.
@wearedcproper (https://www.instagram.com/wearedcproper/) made identical jackets for teammates Chase Young and Curtis Samuel. Customizing there numbers on each bicep of there right sleeve.
Chase Young
Chase Young , is a football defensive end who tore his ACL and is still in recovery but got cleared to practice just this past weekend.
The No. 2 overall pick in his draft, last year he won the NFL's AP Defensive Rookie of the Year (2021).
Going back to week 1 of the NFL season, Saquan Barkley wore a letterman jacket walking into there first season game.
Even last month, professional soccer players, Rafael Leao, Antonio Mirante, Pierre Kalulu and Fikayo Tomori, were rocking the late designer Virgil Abloh letterman jackets.
I know I'm missing more so if you see any come up please share and have a great day!

This year, for mental health awareness week, the CU Buffaloes walked into their 13th game of the season against the Oregon State Beavers, wearing customized crewnecks and hoodies for âKatieâs Save.â Which was written on the frontside, with a heart, of each sweatshirt. On the back of the sweatshirts had the message,âYou Are Loved.â Katieâs Save is an organization that was created from the loss of Stanford women's soccer goalie, Katie Meyer.
If you wish to find and learn more about Katie's Save, I've linked everything below.
âWhile not every player had one of these, they still all had their own way of representing awareness for mental health. â Other players such as Phoenix Miranda had the message âLove Never Gives Up,â on the front of a gray hoodie with green font, and Bella Grust, âhappiness project,â written in rainbow.

The Buffs won, 3-2 against the Beavers, making their first Pac-12 win. The team is on the road for their next two games, in California against Cal and Stanford. âThe next home game will be on November 4th at 3PM on Prentup Field. The NBA started their season off this past week, which included the championship ring ceremony for the Golden State Warriors. Just prior to the start of their first game of the new season.
âThe Golden State Warriors played in their first game of the season, and only the second game of the whole NBA season. Started off the Los Angeles Lakers vs the Golden State Warriors at their home, Chase Center in Mission Bay, San Francisco.
It was ring night for the Warriors, as they had held a pre-game ceremony to where they received their championship ring, from last seasons win. The fans even got a little something to take home, a championship t-shirt.
But, of course you know I had not forgotten about the walk-in fits.
The Warriors got on button down collared all white championship shirts with gold embroidery. The team warmed up in them and wow do they look good! Paired them with the teams blue nike sweatpants, with yellow straps down the side.
A lot of clips and attention went to Stephen Curry as he won the âNBA Finals MVP Award and an NBA All-Star Game MVP Award.
The F1 Night Race, a weekend race in Singapore is an event of its own. With three days of live music from amazing headlining artists to the formula 1 race. The weekend is action packed. Not to mention the outfits too.
Starting off with the best, Lewis Hamilton came in to the SingaporeGP looking fly and fresh. With a floral purple printed shirt with a blue base and ballon fitted dress pants that match the printed floral color purple on his shirt.
While I'm always all for the outfits, George Russell came rolling in sitting on the back of a very nice vintage car. A 1971, 280 SL Mercedes.
While also repping his new custom Japanese merch with his number, 63 on the chest.
Sergio Perez took the win in his navy blue RedBull jumpsuit with red lettering.
They ended the weekend off with a concert with an awesome line up of Green Day, the kid laroi and the black eyed peas.
This 2022-23 season, the Buffs got a fresh new look. CU unveils a new court at the Events Center, and the women's basketball team have newly designed Nike uniforms. â As you mightâve already seen from watching the womenâs volleyball games, the court has a new design, from last semester. The court's design is a liking of the beautiful Boulder flatirons. As they had before an outline of the mountains on one width end, inside the boundary line of the court previously. They now have vertical and horizontal lines that cross along either end width of the court's sidelines. I believe this gives the court a fresh new and clean sleek look, while keeping the basis theme /emphasis of the CU court overall. It is really âout with the old, [and] in with the newâ. While putting in the new, they kept some things the same. As last yearâs court had read âColorado Buffaloesâ on either end, and this year they have it split up, on each end, one side reads âColoradoâ and the opposite âBuffaloesâ.
( As you can see from the image below, of what the old court was.)
The CU women's basketball team got a fresh new look for the 2022-23 season with newly designed uniforms by Nike. That is a match in relation to the new court, with the neck and shoulder sleeves brims having lines that mimic the boulder flatiron's crossings on the new court's width.
CU women's basketball season opener will be on Monday, November 7th. Along with CU Menâs basketball also playing their first season game against UC Riverside at the CU Events Center. This week, A. Weaves breaks down the top 5 best walk-in pre-game outfits of the NFL so far as the third week of the season comes to a close.
Do you agree with her ranking? or do you think she missed a few other options? As the Buffs start there 2022 season off at home, Friday, September 2nd on Folsom Field against TCU. We get to see there pre-game fits just before they start warming up. The Buff walk takes place from the stadium fence on Colorado ave. and the corner of Folsom street. Walking all the way down the length on the outskirts of the stadium field to their locker room doors on the other end. Located on the east side of Folsom Field. Between the stadium entrance and Franklin field. Chance Main, Defensive End came in looking country and sporty, all that I love. Rocking the Oakley glasses and a black cowboy hat, ready to take on the rodeo of his opponent(s). Keeping that all black fit with a clean suit coat and black t-shirt. You know defensive lineman, Tyas Martin means business. Walking in wearing an all black suit with a white button up underneath, having his chain with a cross laying on top of his chest. Listening to “Harley Quinn” whilst trying to give that young fan a high five. But, before Martin passes he throws up some love. Photo by Derek Marckel Photo by Derek Marckel The team will be having another Buff Walk this Friday, September 23rd, before facing UCLA at Folsom Field on Saturday the 24th at noon.

Running back, Austin Ekeler (@AustinEkeler) vibes in while holding a food container, wondering what he brought in with him. Wearing a matching shorts and button up shirt set that's red and white with a very nice pattern. Love it! Rockin an all blue matching sweat piece set, a crew neck with sweats and air force ones. Cornerback Asante Samuel (@zont.954) stolls in comfortable rocking some no brim shades, which helped cover his tunnel vision for the game as he made an amazing interception catch. After just a short of a decade later of being restricted to teams having one helmet, this 2022 NFL season teams are able to have alternate helmet options for their game day uniforms.
In 2013, the NFL enforced the rule after certain safety precautions to players rotating their head protection took place. Just last year in 2021 they changed the rule approving teams to have alternate helmets with throwback uniforms. This season 13 out of the 32 teams have released alternate helmet options for their uniform(s). In my best efforts I am going to rank the new alternative helmets here. Disclosure: These are just my opinion on design etc.
The giants decided to bring back their helmets from the 80s & 90s, and no I don’t mean the actual helmet, just the design. That would be bad for the NFL safety of their helmets. This helmet I do like, it’s classic and its simple yet shows the team and its legacy of their former uniforms. 2. Saints https://twitter.com/Saints/status/1537465411322753024?s=20&t=Y02b-2MDFHV7Al71SZjWUA https://twitter.com/Saints/status/1537465013757259782?s=20&t=Y02b-2MDFHV7Al71SZjWUA Do I believe the saints could've done more? Yeah, but do I like how the helmets turned out? Of course! The little design in the middle from the back to the front of the helmet really adds that extra touch of detail for me. While it won't be all that noticeable on the field I still like it. 3. Panthers https://twitter.com/Panthers/status/1549550950976696320?s=20&t=jpywflaADjwzLwR0wOgQLQ I will say I think the panthers helmet is a bit of a fun color. The teal is really striking and out there. Not saying it would be my first pick color for them, but it will definitely be a distraction for their opponents that’s for sure. 4. Eagles https://twitter.com/Eagles/status/1550526798194249728?s=20&t=yehszMLoqTeehEoi5cndPg You know what, I like it. Yeah it might be real simple but that plain and simple clean look is better than being a crazed zebra to me. (“crazed zebra” referencing to the Bengals helmets) 5. New York Jets https://twitter.com/nyjets/status/1550468201955307521?s=20&t=d78R8-3Fp2x4u7yfihKeGw https://www.newyorkjets.com/photos/jets-stealth-black-alternate-helmet-photos It's plain and simple, nothing too new or risky here. I like the sleek look but I wish there was a little something bigger done here. They could have really thrown it back to the old jets logo with the actual plane riding through. 6. Cincinnati Bengals https://twitter.com/Bengals/status/1550488846068072448?s=20&t=JsW4xjmeUNWID9sMw1zQ-w https://www.nfl.com/news/cincinnati-reveals-alternate-white-bengal-helmet-for-2022-nfl-season I don’t love the helmets but I also have to admit I don’t hate them either. Out of all the new helmets it's definitely a top tier for me. 7. Texans https://twitter.com/HoustonTexans/status/1546872161331253250?s=20&t=6UEYUrSb4qtAoeZeSF08cw Do I think that the Texans could have done a bit more? Yes. Do I still like the red, heck yeah I do. 8. Chicago bears https://twitter.com/ChicagoBears/status/1551250871903830018?s=20&t=USkZ7eUvA29aAS2ZMl2Dkw While I will say I do like the helmet, putting it together with the alternate orange uniforms is not the move. Anyone ever tell them a little orange is a little too much? Will make them look like traffic cones out here on the field. 9. The Washington Commanders https://twitter.com/JPFinlayNBCS/status/1488880685087694854?s=20&t=I2uWnFDY2RZuInswD1WhYg The Washington football team has had to go through a lot of rebranding changes recently and I think their decision with this one was pretty spot on. Wasn’t expecting much but they just hit a sweet spot of something new to being classic and I like it. While I wish they'd done something else with their name and helmets than just the old school look of just a number, not much they totally could’ve done here. Hard to make it a huge new celebration when not too much to celebrate with, if you know what I mean. Not too sure how I feel about their new name but that's a story for another time. https://www.nflshop.com/washington-commanders/unsigned-washington-football-team-riddell-flash-alternate-revolution-speed-authentic-football-helmet/t-47159481+p-5980445739912+z-9-2794422144?_ref=p-DLP:m-GRID:i-r4c0:po-12 I personally think it would've been neat to see something more like this for their new helmets. 10. Cowboys https://twitter.com/dallascowboys/status/1550137724023226368?s=20&t=fuJUItIWky9KQ3eQ7Qy5Kw The cowboys are throwing it back to there roots of there old helmet logos. With the white helmets and classic plain blue star, they are keeping it simple and clean. Which is nothing compared to how I think of the cowboys what so ever. A little disappointed, got my hopes up and little to high here being that the cowboys are just known in general for going big, or go home. Maybe they’ll fix that up for next time. https://www.dallascowboys.com/news/cowboys-unveil-alternate-helmet-for-2022-season The cowboys are actually planned to have 3 separate helmets this year. This classic will unveil on thanksgiving day. 11. Patriots https://twitter.com/Patriots/status/1539639413612879875?s=20&t=Z_Viue_0Mf-lWibQ9fXugA In these edits the patriot uniforms are looking a bit orange if you ask me.. But nonetheless the Patriots have rarely changed their uniforms in over a few decades so I don't see them really going to these as much. Maybe once??... I hope they change my mind and I see something different this season. 12. Falcons https://twitter.com/AtlantaFalcons/status/1532151256940023808?s=20&t=wW49f7-Q0Xuqew5-4FngzA 13. Arizona Cardinals https://twitter.com/AZCardinals/status/1551317257799602176?s=20&t=vyEzyEI7KinzzoLwTvu6uQ I am sorry to say, the Arizona Cardinals are just getting trenched in the mud. While these helmets are nice they have been on the up and outs of the best uniforms for years now, not to mention the team. It's unfortunate that they share the same mascote and same bird logo for their team as the college football team, the Louisville cardinals have been on the better end of this trend for years now. They have done a much better job in redesigning the uniforms. The Arizona Cardinals should’ve just taken a page out of the Louisville book for helmets and given them design credit, because this doesn't look like anything real new or special to me, compared to other , new alternate helmets this season. https://www.helmethistory.com/louisville.html - check out the louisville helmets here. |
